Refining agents, or fused fluxes , are salt blends that are chemically combined through melting and are designed to react with unwanted alkali metals like sodium (Na), lithium (Li), and calcium (Ca).

Refining agents also have been shown to remove non-metallic inclusions, supplement degassing, decrease dross build-up on furnace walls, reduce sludge formation at the furnace bottom, reduce metal sticking, and alter metal oxides to appear "drier" and easier to handle and remove.Refining agent is widely used in aluminum processing industry.

Application:
1. Cleaning: alkali metals and non-metallic inclusions

Usage:
◎ Add the required amount of refining agent into the refining tank, cover it, open the switch of the refining tank, and pass nitrogen through. When the refining agent is ejected from the refining iron tube, insert it into the furnace and move it slowly and evenly around the furnace for 2 ~ 3 times. When all the powder in the tank is sprayed out, extract the refining tube from the liquid aluminum first, and then close the nitrogen.
Process parameters:
Refining temperature: 700 ~ 740℃
◎ Refining time: 8 ~ 15 minutes (6 tons ~ 20 tons furnace)
◎ Nitrogen pressure: 1.2 ~ 1.8kg/mm2
◎ Dosage 1 ~ 3kg aluminum
